Cardiacs (formally Cardiac Arrest) are an English band formed in 1977. Combining the excitement and energy of punk rock with the intricacies and technical cleverness of early British progressive rock. Early releases followed the punk DIY ethic, and included limited runs of the cassette albums The Obvious Identity, Toy World and The Seaside. If you have never seen or heard them, then a gig by Cardiacs almost defies description. It is an event that always leaves the audience moved in some way.
