Scarefest 16th Oct - 31st Oct Escape to Alton Towers Resort this Halloween from 16th October – 31st October and share in the season of spooktacular fun as the resort celebrates Scarefest. With spine-tingling spooks for younger visitors and haunting horrors for thrill-seeking ghost hunters, there’s something for everyone at the Alton Towers Resort this Halloween. Enjoy late ride opening until 9pm every night and increase the fright factor by experiencing our most thrilling rides and attractions in the dark! Be confronted by live terror as a chilling combination of scare attractions ensure those willing to be frightened this Halloween don’t leave feeling scared…..they’ll leave terrified! Home to tricks, treats, ghosts and ghouls, there’s a whole host of spine-tingling spooks for all the family across the Resort during Scarefest. THIRTEEN: The ultimate rollercoaster, Thirteen, launches on 20th March 2010. Thirteen will be based on the discovery of an unearthed ancient burial site in an area of unexplored woodland known as the Dark Forest. Built on the site of the old Corkscrew rollercoaster, visitors will be invited to take a petrifying ride on Thirteen, venturing into the seemingly living and breathing Dark Forest. There they will face an unknown horror that has been unleashed from the ancient crypt. The ride has been developed with the world's leading coaster and thrill consultants who have collaborated to combine the ultimate elements of physical and psychological fear - to create what experts are dubbing a 'psychoaster'. What you'll find at Alton Towers? Towers Street: Whether it be sweets or ice-cream for the kids, a trendy jacket for dad, a cool brolly for mum, or whatever else you may fancy, Towers Street is where it's at. After riding the monorail from the car park, or walking from the nearby coach park, you enter Towers Street. Here you will find a choice of shops, where there literally is something for everyone. Cred Street: Situated behind the Towers, Cred Street is family orientated. Here you will find peace and tranquility, that is until Barney the Dinosaur makes an appearance, as he entertains the kids throughout the day in the theatre and out on the street. Katanga Canyon: Here in an African colonial village you will find the Runaway Minetrain, and the ferocious Congo River Rapids. X-Sector: Dare you enter the X-Sector, with the foreboding Oblivion, and coaster-in-the-dark, Black Hole? Merrie England: Traditional attractions including the Tea-Cups, 3D Cinema, and the well-loved Log Flume. The Towers: Explore the old mansion house, currently undergoing renovation, or try out Hex, and witness the legend of the Towers for yourself. Gloomy Wood: Explore the forest cemetery before entering the most haunted house in the United Kingdom. Storybook Land: A magical place dedicated to the young at heart. Halloween character meet and greets find characters Patch, Franklin, Skelvin and Phil , our resident Scarefest spooky friends Trick or Treat Doors surprises lie behind these darkened doors. Be careful what you wish for The Haunting of Algenons Attic indoor show dare to join Lucy as she investigates what is causing those bumps in the night. An indoor show to entertain all, but especially suited to under 10s Haunted Hollow and Duel: Live! The spooky short-cut through Gloomy Wood and Duel The Haunted House Strikes Back! will become inhabited by some extra special guests just for Scarefest Late opening till 9pm every night Terror of the Towers the Master gives chase to those invading his mansion. Suitable only for guests aged 14 and above The fun continues into the evening over at the two Resort Hotels, with spooks and scares to suit all ages. Check into the new Trick or Treat rooms in the Alton Towers Hotel and challenge the family to discover the hidden prizes or forfeits! Youngsters can join Pirate Bill on his ghost hunt and enjoy a fun-filled disco adventure in the Splash Voodoo party, before joining one of our Scarefest characters for breakfast. Ghost Hunt Pirate Bill needs your help in finding those hidden ghosts and ghouls Dance with the Devil Show sing and dance along to the songs dedicated to the season in the atrium of the Alton Towers Hotel Voodoo Splash Party Cariba Creek waterpark plays host to an evening of water-fuelled disco party adventure!
