Set designer Ian MacNeil has also won numerous awards, including two Evening Standard Awards (one for Festen), two Oliviers (one for ENO's Ariodante) and a Tony (for Billy Elliot: The Musical). Here making his London operatic debut, the outstanding young Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits launched his four-year tenure as Principal Conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra with a 2009 BBC Proms concert that, The Guardian declared, 'has made Karabits something of a star'. An outstanding cast is led by Iain Paterson as the legendary sexaholic, with Rebecca Evans and Sarah Tynan among the ever-lengthening list of his past and present paramours.
